Article marketing is one of the best ways to build an online business and drive traffic to your website. Writing articles and posting them on your site will help the potential customers to see that you are an expert in your niche and by submitting a few articles to article directories you can increase exposure to your website and thus build a customer list and make sales.
The problem many people face with article marketing is they get struck when it comes to ideas on what to write. Here’s the good news as long as you are writing to fill a need in the marketplace you can find a lot of ideas. Moreover, by writing on subjects that your target audience love, you can gain more exposure to your website. Here are some tips to get you going.
1. Yahoo Answers: This is a place where people go to ask questions. Search related terms in your niche and see what kind of qustions people are asking in your niche take 5 to six questions and answer them in your article.
2. Keyword Research: You can use the Google keyword research tool to find out the terms that people are searching in your niche. Choose the keywords that have about 500 – 1000 searches a month and low competion this is because if you choose high competetion keywords your article may never see the living day light on Google.
3. Research the Competition: Another simple way to get ideas is to visit competitor’s website and see what they are writing about. You can get some ideas on what they have missed out and cover it in your article.
4.Read: Read magazines and newspapers and turn on your article idea radar in your mind and you can easily uncover lot of topics to write about. Always keep a small notepad or mobile to note down the ideas as and when they occur.
5.Write What You Know: This is a simple way to write an article. You already know many things about your niche that others who are just getting started don’t know. Why not pass on your knowledge by writing a tip style article like ‘Ten tips to make your website sizzle’ or ‘Ten ways to get more twitter followers’ etc.
All you need to do is list out 10 ideas and write 2 lines for each tip and BAM you got an article!
6.Google Alerts: You can set up Google alert to receive email when a particular keyword or key phrase appears in the news. You can read those news articles and put your own twist and write articles about them. Use the news sources for inspiration but do not copy the article word-for-word.
